When I was a child, we always had dogs and cats as pets and we also had lots of contact with wild animals. Being a tomboy, I loved turtles, snakes, frogs, birds, rabbits, and other creatures that I would encounter.</B><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Papyrus" ><B> </B></FONT></div> <bR> <div> <B>As a young woman, I got involved in horses. I first owned a horse with sight in only one eye, then a retired race horse, and finally a untamed colt that I tamed and went on to show. To pay for expenses, I worked at the stable where I boarded and got experience training cart ponies, "riding down" hunt horses before the hunt, and working on the breeding program. I was also the keeper of the stable cats and often cared for a dozen or more cats that we would host when their owners had abandoned them.</B><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Papyrus" ><B> </B></FONT></div> <bR> <div> <B>In 1994, I worked with remedies on a herd of dairy cows and had some wonderful results. I loved the fact that I was working with subjects who I could safely assume were immune to placebo effect. Cows also have a reproductive cycle that is similar to a human's and they can suffer many of the same problems as humans. Although singling out the cows and administering the remedy was a difficulty, the "cases" I did work on responded very well.</B><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Papyrus" ><B> </B></FONT></div> <bR> <div> <B>Now I live a bit more mundane life, but I have two Boston Terriers and an African pygmy hedgehog. It seemed like a natural progression that I would begin to use homeopathy with both my own animals and with the pets of my clients. I've been doing that since I first started consulting in 1989. Once proper vet care is given, I feel fine in trying my hand at treating the problem with homeopathic care. They have usually not been bombarded with medications and their systems are strong and able to easily do what the remedies require.
